The brief

Create a brand partnership between a Warner Bros franchise and a brand. The deliverables: a key visual with a supporting mood board, and a three-part shopper roll-out made up of an in-store pop-up, in-store displays and social media executions.

The collaboration

Mad Max and JBL, pushed together to make a speaker line: “Sound of the Storm”. The audience is 18 to 35 year olds who value wireless, portable tech, follow music, festivals and pop culture, game and stream, and would rather spend on limited editions and experiences than material goods.

The look

Moodboards across three themes, dystopian, man-made and violence, fed a key visual and a product that looks like it came out of the wasteland: JBL speakers wrapped in black and gold brushstrokes, with skull and gear motifs.

The roll-out

Packaging that asks “Ready to embrace the storm?”, then in-store displays, shelf signage, window posters and a digital screen, and social posts counting down to launch. Extras include stickers, barrier banners, a duffel bag and a live pop-up in the desert.
